Man gets bag with cash left in public bus
A MAN who fell asleep in a public bus and forgot his bag, containing cash and bank card, got it back yesterday.
The Anhui Province native, surnamed Cai, picked up his belongings from the Shanghai Bashi No. 2 Co.
Cai had left behind a plastic bag containing 7,700 yuan (US$1,235) in cash, a bank card and three bank books with a total deposit of more than 218,000 yuan, on bus No. 180 on Tuesday evening.
Cai only discovered his loss on Wednesday. He went to the bus company but was not able to claim the bag because he didn’t have an identity card. He went to the bus company again with his identity card yesterday morning and managed to get back the bag, which also had a pair of trousers and a torch.
“I didn’t expect to get the cash back, so I’m very grateful to the conductor,” Cai said, who plans to order a pennant for the bus company.
Coincidentally, a bag containing a laptop and 3,885 yuan cash was also forgotten on a No. 763 bus on Wednesday. It was returned to the owner the same day.
