Man held after woman strangled to death

A MAN has been accused of strangling his girlfriend to death in Putuo District this morning.
The 24-year-old Anhui Province native, surnamed Wang, had a quarrel with his girlfriend at 5am in their rented residence on Aomen Road, police said. The conflicted turned violent and the man strangled the 23-year-old Shandong Province native to death, officers added.
Wang, accompanied by his father, surrendered to police two hours after the incident, according to police.
Police said they were still investigating the case.
