Man held for rape in Putuo

THE Putuo District police have detained a man for raping a woman after luring her home on the pretext of a job.
The man, surnamed Jiang, and the woman, surnamed Liu, got to know each other when they were looking for rented apartments at a property agency on March 22.
Jiang told police he thought of raping Liu because she was attractive and was also a model. He asked Liu out for dinner on March 30 on the promise of discussing a job opportunity for her as a model for a TV shopping channel.
After dinner he asked Liu to come over to his place to take some pictures. He then raped her and warned her not to call the police. But Liu filed a complaint with the police the next day. Hours later, police detained him.
