Man held over double killing

A MAN has been held in connection with the murders of a woman and her 11-year-old daughter in a residential complex in Xuhui District, police said yesterday.
The bodies of the girl and her mother, who was in her 40s, were found with knife wounds at their home in Shengda Garden last week.
Police say surveillance camera footage showed the suspect, surnamed Jiang, entering the building, then leaving 30 minutes later wearing women’s clothing.
Officers suspect he had changed out of bloody clothes.
Jiang was caught in an Internet cafe on Saturday.
A motive for the crime is still being investigated, said police.
