Man jailed for stabbing 2 officers
A TAXI driver who stabbed and wounded two policemen with a kitchen knife after taking a drug was sentenced to one and a half years in prison, Jing’an District People’s Court said.
Prosecutors said the man drove to the Caojiadu police station on May 15 and entered with a kitchen knife. After waiting for a moment he left and got back in his car.
His suspicious behavior caught the attention of officers and two policemen followed the cabbie. When they attempted to open the taxi door, he got out and stabbed them both in the neck and back. They were slightly injured and the man was caught with the help of passers-by, the court heard.
The man had taken methamphetamine, according to a hospital report.
The cabbie said he took the drug around 9pm on May 14. He told the court he had a hallucination that someone was following him the day he attacked the officers.
