Man sent to detention for calling police hotline more than 17,000 times!
A man was sent to 10-day detention for seriously disturbing public order after he called the police emergency hotline 110 more than 17,000 times in two days, Songjiang police said.
Police said they received 533 calls from a mobile phone between 12:03 and 17:37 on November 1. The caller hung up as soon as the cops picked the calls.
After investigating, police traced the number to a man surnamed Zhang.
Zhang continued his crazy behavior the next day, making 14,261 calls from his landline in the morning. He did the same in the evening and made 2,518 calls with another mobile phone number before police tracked him down.
Zhang said he did it to release his emotion. He was also detained in 2011 and 2013 for repeatedly calling 110 and 12345, a government hotline for citizens.
