Man surrenders

A MAN who threatened his colleagues with knives at a restaurant following a dispute turned himself over to the police yesterday morning, officials said. The man, surnamed Lu, 27, was an employee of a restaurant on 330 Weiqingxi Road in Jinshan District. Lu was drinking in the restaurant and had disputes with other employees over a relationship. An angry Lu grabbed a kitchen knife, a fruit knife and then held a customer hostage, according to a report in xinmin.cn. Police were called in at 2:46am. They evacuated waiters and customers in the restaurant first and then urged Lu to surrender himself. He did so at 5:31am. Neither the hostage or anyone else was injured in the incident.
