Manhole tragedy

Three workers who fainted in a manhole in Baoshan District died in hospital yesterday evening, local safety supervision authorities said. The three were workers of a local electricity company. They entered the manhole at 6:30pm and were laying cables inside. Some minutes later they were found unconscious. Firemen from a passing fire-fighting vehicle helped them out. They were rushed to the Renhe Hospital. An investigation into the incident is underway.
