THE city's major aquatic products wholesale market banned an unlicensed washing powder used to clean crayfish from being sold yesterday after media reports.
Officials of Shanghai Tongchuan Road Aquatic Products Wholesale Market said they had checked the market yesterday after reading reports that the Shanghai Food and Drug Administration had banned the powder as a potential danger to health.
The powder was confiscated from one stall.
