Medic gets 6 years for ‘rape video’ extortion

A MEDICAL worker who tried to extort 1.5 million yuan (US$239,687) from her boyfriend through a video she said showed him raping her was jailed for six years, Baoshan District People’s Court said yesterday .
Yang Fangfang met a local man in 2012. He promised to help her to get a job and residence permit in Shanghai.
Yang returned to her hometown in Hunan Province last May but came back to the city in November and had sex with the man, secretly filming the encounter. When she threatened to go to police with the “rape video” he agreed to pay 1.5 million yuan. Yang was caught receiving 100,000 yuan in Baoshan District on December 20.
