Metro enforcement team issues 40 fines

FORTY fines were handed out by the new Shanghai Metro enforcement team in its first week, officials said yesterday.
A 100-strong full-time team began patrols in the city’s Metro network last Wednesday. The uniformed officers will intervene over offences such as begging, vending, distributing fliers, evading tickets or illegally using senior cards. Fines range from 50 (US$8.10) to 500 yuan. Some 110 fare dodgers were also caught by team members.
