Missing dog found after four days

A GUIDE dog that went missing four days ago was found and returned to its masters in Songjiang District yesterday.

The yellow-white Labrador retriever which provides valuable service to about seven blind people working at a massage parlor and whose disappearance attracted public attention, was reported lost last Friday.

One of its blind masters, a woman surnamed Gu, was excited to be reunited with the pet. "Finally you're back," said Gu, who has spent much of her time with the dog since last December when it was delivered.

A man, surnamed Liu, said the dog strolling on a road in Songjiang on Saturday night and he just "followed me home". Later amid the media and online clamor, Liu realized that it may be the missing dog.

The animal is among a rare breed of 18 guide dogs in service in the city. Each dog is valued at about 200,000 yuan (US$31,910), including 100,000 yuan training cost.
