A WOMAN in Qingpu District was arrested yesterday for allegedly cutting off three of her son’s fingers, the authorities said.

The district procurator said the woman, surnamed Sun, was arrested on suspicion of intentional assault.

She was discussing a divorce with her husband Zhang on April 2 when they had a fight and Zhang left.

Sun then dragged her son, who was playing nearby, to a chopping board and cut off three fingers on his left hand, said the procurator.

Sun then called the police.

The boy’s fingers could not be reattached.
