Mom, baby stable after birth in public toilet

A YOUNG woman gave birth to a baby boy inside a public toilet around noon today in the city, and both were reported to be in stable condition.
The woman went into a toilet near the entrance of the Hongqiao Road Metro station at 11:30am.
A staff worker spotted blood coming from under the door of the locked compartment and asked if the woman needed help, Xinmin Net reported.
The worker said the woman spent a long time inside the compartment though she insisted no help was needed. The worker and some bystanders decided to call the police, who unlocked the door and found the newborn with the woman in the urinal.
Both were sent to Shanghai Six People’s Hospital.
