Murder suspect found hanged

A 26-year-old man suspected of killing his girlfriend was found dead on Monday at Shanghai Xinqiao Polytechnic College after apparently committing suicide.
The former student at the college was found hanging in a stairwell on the Jiading campus, xinmin.cn reported yesterday.
A student contacted the emergency services and paramedics pronounced the man dead, the report said.
The deceased had been suspected of killing his girlfriend on Sunday during a dispute, police said, adding that both incidents are under investigation.
Meanwhile, a postgraduate student at Shanghai University who was reported missing almost a month ago was found dead yesterday in an abandoned building on the college’s Jiading campus.
The decomposed remains of the unnamed man were discovered hanging from a door frame by two fellow students, The Beijing News reported.
Police, who had been searching for the man since November 13, said they have ruled out murder but are still investigating the case, it said.
