Murder suspect kills self

A MAN suspected of bludgeoning his girlfriend to death in Shanghai returned to his hometown in neighboring Anhui Province and committed suicide, police said yesterday.
A 38-year-old woman, surnamed Xu, was found murdered in her apartment in the Shihua No.3 neighborhood of Jinshan District on Monday afternoon.
She had been killed by blows from a blunt instrument, said police.
Her boyfriend, a 46-year-old surnamed Wang, was identified as the suspect.
However, police discovered the same evening that Wang had hanged himself after returning to his hometown.
Neighbors told Shanghai Television that Xu, a saleswoman in a mall, had wanted to leave Wang, who was said not to have a steady job and spent much of his time playing video games in Internet cafes. Xu’s 13-year-old child lived with her.
