A MAN who killed a shopkeeper during an attempted robbery in Minhang District on February 2 was arrested just two days later, local police said yesterday. The attacker, surnamed Fang, said he initially planned only to rob the store but became irritated when its owner, a 67-year-old surnamed Liao, ignored his request for cigarettes, so he slit his throat, police said. He confessed to the crime after police found blood on his cap that had come from the victim.
