Mystery as cars hit by bricks
A RESIDENTIAL community in Pudong New Area plans to install more surveillance cameras after some cars were damaged by bricks thrown on them.
Police said they have started investigations after residents in Zhujiamen Community reported that someone was chucking bricks and damaged six cars.
One of the victims, a woman surnamed Zhang, whose car was damaged this week, said she suspected it was an act of vandalism.
“We moved in just one month ago so I don’t think it had to do with anyone who bore a grudge against me,” she said.
Another resident, surnamed Yue said her granddaughter had a lucky escape after the brick fell close to her.
The property management staff have increased security while an official in the community said they were considering putting up more surveillance cameras.
