THE China Food and Drug Administration tested 257,000 food samples nationwide throughout 2016, finding 96.8 percent of food up to standard.
According to a statement by the CFDA yesterday, tests for unsafe ingredients did not uncover abnormalities.
The outstanding problems in food safety included the excessive use of additives, microorganic pollution, and contamination with heavy metal and biological toxins.
