Net threat after nude pics theft
A man was charged with blackmail after allegedly extorting 10,000 yuan (US$1,500) from an online broadcaster using nude photos she had sent to her boyfriend, who was a friend of the suspect, prosecutors in Songjiang District in Shanghai said yesterday.
Xiao Ya received a message from a stranger in February saying he had nude photos of her and threatened to post them online if she did not pay him, procurators said.
After he sent her 10 nude photos via WeChat, Xiao paid the money.
Wu Zhile admitted taking the photos from a mobile phone he found while making a social visit to the victim’s boyfriend Zheng Qiao’s home.
