THE local government plans to build a 2.29km-long bridge over the Huangpu River between Minhang and Fengxian districts, the authority said yesterday. The Kunming Road cross-river project will connect Kunyang Road in Minhang and the Puwei Highway in Fengxian with downtown areas.
Residents in the two districts will be able to reach the Hongqiao and Pudong international airports directly after the project is completed. Construction will start by the end of the year.
