Nikon will swap faulty cameras
Japanese camera giant Nikon yesterday agreed to give disgruntled owners of its D600 cameras a free replacement, the Shanghai Consumer Rights Protection Commission said.
The company admitted that the black spots seen on images produced by the model were the result of a technical problem. As a result, if the issue cannot be resolved after two attempts users will be given a replacement camera, Nikon Imaging (China) Sales Co in Shanghai said in a statement.
The announcement came after several rounds of talks between the company and consumer rights officials.
While Nikon did not name the replacement model, the commission said it had indicated it would be the D610.
