No clues yet on missing baby boy in Songjiang
Songjiang District police have yet to find any clues for the four-month-old baby boy who went missing from his home on Sunday as his mother and the rest of the family members worked on their breakfast stall.
The baby was sleeping in his stroller at home when his grandmother came to check on him at 9am and found him missing. Songjiang police said they had checked the surveillance videos of roads nearby but found nothing suspicious.
Meanwhile, a baby who was found abandoned in front of a grocery store in Qingpu District was sent to a local hospital. Local police confirmed it wasn’t the missing toddler from Songjiang District.
Police said when he was found on Sunday evening, he was wrapped in a quilt and a blanket. They are searching for the baby’s parents.
The boy is being taken care of by local civil affair authorities.
In another case, a six-month old girl with blue eyes was found left in a plaza in Qingpu District on November 16.
Doctors said she was in good health but remained in the hospital. Police said she would be moved to a welfare house this week.
Over 50 local residents have expressed their interest in adopting her, but police said they have to apply with the civil affairs authorities first.
