Oldest resident dies
SHANGHAI’S oldest resident, Li Suqing, died at 117 on Saturday night.
Li was named the city’s top “longevity star” for eight consecutive years. She was usually in a good mood and rarely got angry, her daughter said. She was not picky about food and she had a cup of milk, an egg and walnut powder for breakfast every day. There were 1,751 centenarians in the city at the end of 2015, a rise of 7.4 percent over the previous year. For every 100,000 residents, 12.1 were centenarians.
