One injured after part of residential building collapsed due to blast

A local resident was injured after part of a residential building collapsed due to a blast tonight.

The blast occurred at about 9pm, when the exterior wall of the second and third floor of the four-story building at 398 Kongjiang Road in Yangpu District collapsed due to the impact.

A resident, whose details were not available, was slightly injured and rushed to the nearby hospital, where doctors said the injury was not life-threatening.

A preliminary investigation showed the blast was triggered by gas leak.

Nearby residents who were affected by the blast were evacuated.

Investigation is ongoing.
