Opera comes to Pudong

CONSTRUCTION of a grand opera house in the World Expo zone in the Pudong New Area will get under way next year, Wenhui Daily reported yesterday. The venue will open for performances before 2020, when it is hoped it will attract some of the world’s best operatic performers, such as those from the Royal Opera House in London and the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
