Party officials warned over expenditures

NINE local Party officials have been issued warnings after they were found to be in violation of the Party’s Eight-Point Regulations, said the Shanghai Party disciplinary watchdog yesterday.

They include Lin Jun, director of Jiading District’s publicity department, He Chunyan, East China general manager of Shanghai Bright Dairy and Food Co, and Liu Liming, Party chief of Mianchang Village in the Pudong New Area.

They were found to have put personal expenses on their official expense accounts, accepted free meals and gifts, and spent too much on official trips.

Wang Hongxiang, general manager of Shanghai Patent and Trademark Office, was also found to have taken more than 300,000 yuan (US$46,440) of official funds and distributed it to his surbordinates.

All nine received severe warnings from the Party, and He was also demoted.

The Eight-Point Regulations were introduced by the Party in December 2012 to reduce bureaucracy and extravagance, and discourage undesirable work habits.
