A COURT yesterday awarded a 9-year-old schoolgirl 4,400 yuan (US$710) in compensation for breaking a tooth after being tripped up by a classmate in 2013. Qingpu District People’s Court ruled that the classmate’s parents should pay 70 percent of the compensation and the school 30 percent, for not taking proper care of its charges.
