Pedestrian tunnels to open soon in business district
A NETWORK of tunnels designed to provide an underground link between skyscrapers in the Lujiazui business district has been completed and will open to the public soon, its developer Shanghai Construction Group said yesterday.
The new feature will allow pedestrians to move freely between Shanghai ifc Mall, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Shanghai Tower without having to navigate the areas busy roads above, a press officer said.
The person, who declined to be named, said the network, which was four years in the making, would open to the pubic “soon,” once the works have been inspected.
Meanwhile, the firm whose employees dropped a sheet of glass from Shanghai Tower on Monday, yesterday issued a statement in which it apologized both to the victim of the incident and the public in general for its “negative impact.”
