Phone users can block spams now

From Sunday, users of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom will be able to block scam messages by replying “0000” to the senders, the local regulator and carriers said yesterday.

Most scam messages are advertisements for real estate, training and retail firms. Users can also call the carriers’ hotlines for the scam messages, but it takes a lot of time for the carriers to block those messages. Most of them are sent from numbers that start from 106. The city has more than 20 million mobile phone users.
