Pipe boy has lucky escape

A 15-year-old boy who fell 11 stories through a ventilation pipe on Monday escaped with only minor cuts and bruises, police said yesterday.
The youngster climbed into the pipe out of curiosity while playing on a construction site in Songjiang District. He then slid down the pipe but got stuck at the bottom and had to be rescued by firefighters. He was discovered missing by his mother who went to the site and heard his cries for help. She then contacted the emergency services.
