Two brothers were arrested for producing and selling dog meat with poisoned dogs, Songjiang District People’s Procuratorate said yesterday. The two, surnamed Ma, were caught by police after they bought over 20 dead dogs from a dog dealer for 10 yuan (US$1.66) per kilogram.
The dogs were seized from the trunk of their car. After examination, toxic cyanide were found in the dogs, a deadly substance that could also lead to death among humans.
