Police probe cat-killing gang
POLICE in Baoshan District are investigating a gang which allegedly slaughters dogs and cats for sale as meat.
Police seized more than 30 cats and 100 kilograms of cat and dog meat from a house in Gucun Town yesterday, eastday.com reported today.
The suspects said the animals were all homeless. But pet owners nearby alleged the gang stole cats.
A resident surnamed Cui said she raised more than 10 cats at home and also fed several homeless cats nearby. However, her cats were always going missing.
