Pudong eyes new cultural, tourism hub
THE Lujiazui financial hub in the Pudong New Area will develop a riverside tourism and cultural belt, including a cluster of parks and venues, by 2020.
A blueprint released yesterday includes integrating the area’s seafaring history with cultural and artistic performances.
The Binjiang tourism and leisure industry belt will include the Pudong Culture Center, the Dongchang Cinema, the under-construction Minsheng Pier Cultural Base, the Dongchang Binjiang green belt, the Feicui Binjiang Art Center still being built, the Laobaidu Binjiang green space and a sculpture park.
Dongfang Road, Zhangyang Road and Tangqiaoxin Road will be beautified.
A riverside innovation community will be created along the Zhangjiabang area, which will involve the Feicui Binjiang Art Center, which is under construction, Tangqiao Park, Lujiazui Software Park, Zhuyuan green area and the Zuo’an 88 Innovation Park. The Tangqiao Park and Zhuyuan green space will be renovated.
The Yangjingbang area will be transformed into a performance and arts waterfront community featuring the Yangjing Culture Square, the Minsheng Pier Cultural Base, which is under construction and the Yangjing Culture Exhibition Museum.
