Pujiang country park to open for trial

PUJIANG Country Park in Minhang District is set to open for a trial run later this month after a 16-month construction.

About a third of the 15 square kilometer park will open as the first stage, which consists of five themed areas — forest, flower, agriculture, riverbank and water.

Currently decoration work is under way on the “flower fairy castle” in the “miracle garden” area. Shanghai Construction Group, which is responsible for the park’s first stage, said fairy tales were the inspiration for the 34-meter-high castle.

In the “riverside stroll” area, the city’s only remaining ferry port for trains will open to the public for the first time.
