THE trams that will run on the two new routes planned for Songjiang District will each carry between 300 and 400 passengers in four carriages, the city government said yesterday.
The electric vehicles will travel at between 25-30 kilometers per hour, it said.
More energy efficient than other modes of transport, the trams will also be quieter than subway trains thanks to the rubber shock absorbers fitted to their wheels.
