Regulation coming for test centers
SHANGHAI’S legislative body yesterday approved the city’s first regulation on testing and examining to be enforced from 2017 to regulate test institutes.
The city had a total of 731 qualified and registered test and examining institutes, with 47,000 employees, by 2015.
Areas covered included architecture, environmental protection, health, agriculture, quality inspection, food, drug and electronics, said Tao Yonghua, deputy director with the Shanghai Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision.
However, there are also many unauthorized test institutes that issued fake test reports to cheat consumers, according to the bureau.
