Respiratory cases up
THE average daily number of respiratory cases have jumped 30 percent this month from November due to fluctuating weather and pollution.
Dr Chen Jihong from Shanghai Ren’ai Hospital said most of the patients were the elderly, children and those with chronic respiratory syndromes.
Dr Liu Zhongmin, president of Shanghai East Hospital, said people should stay indoors as tiny pollutants can cause irregular heart beats and hypertension.
