Revolution database will be set up by 2021
A DATABASE of historical sites related to the Communist Party of Chinese (CPC) will be created by the end of 2021 in Shanghai, the birthplace of the Party, to celebrate its 100th birthday, the city’s cultural heritage administration said yesterday.
The new Shanghai History Museum will open to the public next year at the original site of the Shanghai Museum of Art on Nanjing Road W., combining the Shanghai History Museum and the Shanghai Revolution History Museum.
It will host a series of exhibitions on revolutionary history in 2021 to mark the Party’s birthday.
The administration has identified 120 historical revolutionary sites, such as the site of the first national congress of the CPC, which received about 3.8 million visitors last year.
More historical sites will be repaired or rebuilt.
