Robbery, sex charges against 2
A MAN who posted fake recruitment ads online and sexually assaulted a female applicant has been charged with robbery and molestation, the Putuo District People’s Procuratorate said yesterday.
An accomplice has also been charged for robbery, prosecutors said.
The man, surnamed Gu, and his accomplice surnamed Wang plotted a scheme with the intention of committing robbery by putting up fake job ads online for women. They found success with their very first applicant when a woman showed up for an “interview” on November 23 last year.
The victim was lured to an abandoned plant where they stole her cellphone and 2,200 yuan (US$329) in cash. Gu also allegedly molested her.
The woman reported the incident to the police. Wang was caught within two hours and Gu was tracked down in Shandong Province on December 8.
