‘Rumor-mongers’ detained

POLICE have detained seven real estate agents who allegedly made up rumors about the city’s housing policy and spread them on the Internet.
The police authority said yesterday the suspects had claimed on the Internet that the government would tighten up bank loans or stipulate higher down payments to local house buyers. This had caused instability to the city’s real estate market, police said on their official microblog account on Weibo.com.
