A LANE of the S5 Highway linking downtown areas to Jiading District will from next week close every night for 10 months to make room for a widening project.
The city’s road authority said it expects the project, which will widen the highway between the middle and inner ring roads, to be completed before the end of the year. The affected lane will be closed between 10pm to 6am daily from Friday. Large vehicles will be prohibited from using the highway while the lane is closed to ease traffic flows and maintain safety.
