SMPC deputies from economic circles meet to make economic proposals
LIU Yungeng, chairman of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal People's Congress (SMPC), had a meeting with some deputies from economic circles on May 16 to solicit their ideas about Shanghai's drive for innovation and economic transformation and for building the "four centers," as well as how the SMPC, its Standing Committee and deputies can play a better role in the municipal transformation and development.
After listening to advice of deputies, Liu said innovation and economic transformation are the only way for Shanghai to develop scientifically and sustainably and it is the focus in the work of the municipal government. He said the deputies had talked about a number of constructive suggestions in the meeting after careful preparation.
Liu said the Standing Committee of the SMPC will improve the legal environment for Shanghai's innovation and economic transformation based on suggestions from the deputies. He also hoped the deputies to perform their duty well and contribute to Shanghai's economic and social development.
