Scalpers in Metro uniform held

TWO scalpers who dressed up as Metro officers and sold railway tickets at higher prices to migrants returning home during the Spring Festival rush were caught by Metro police.
The duo, dressed in black uniforms with name tags, were found guiding passengers streaming out of Shanghai Railway Station on Metro Line 1 on January 29. When some migrant asked them where they could buy long-distance train tickets, they took them outside the station and sold them tickets at inflated prices. They reportedly earned 50 yuan (US$8) per ticket.
Police said the two men were scalpers who often hanged around the station selling “cheap” railway tickets to people, mainly migrants, setting off to their hometown, during the morning and evening peak periods.
On January 29, when Metro officers were monitoring the station through surveillance cameras, they spotted the two who wore uniforms like them, complete with name tags!
Metro officers are urging migrants heading back home for the festival never to buy railway tickets from “Metro officers” because they do not provide any such service.
