Scared mother kills newborn in restroom

A woman who gave birth to a baby in a restroom on Friday, then killed it out of fear of how her parents would react, has been detained, police said yesterday.
The mother, surnamed Lu, who works as a waitress in a local restaurant, was found unconscious in the restroom by a colleague, who called the emergency services.
Lu was taken to hospital and after receiving medical treatment explained what had happened and confessed to strangling the infant.
Police said the case is still under investigation.
