Schoolboy missing for 3 days found safe
THE missing 13-year-old Shanghai boy was found safe and well in Hangzhou yesterday morning.
Li Ziren had been missing since leaving school on Tuesday afternoon.
A Hangzhou grandmother surnamed Yin saw him walking near West Lake and contacted his family after the boy told her his mother’s mobile phone number.
Yin said she found the boy wandering alone in the street during school time and sensed something unusual.
Police said he had left Shanghai for neighboring Taicang City, walking several kilometers and then hitchhiking some of the way, and that he had spent the first night on a couch in a small hotel. He later traveled to Nanjing and then Hangzhou by bus.
Li Ziren’s mother told thepaper.cn that she, together with her son’s school, had arranged for a psychologist to talk to the boy, who is not expected to attend school on Monday.
He went missing after his teacher reprimanded him in front of his parents, who had been called into the school.
