Seeking parents of baby boy left in parking lot
POLICE are searching for the parents of a baby boy who was abandoned in a parking lot in Qingpu District.
Officers said they received a report at 2:35pm on Sunday that a baby had been found in the car park of the Outlets shopping center on Jiakang Road, Qingpu District. The baby looked healthy and a bag filled with clothes and diapers had been left with him, police said. A note was also left with the child which read: “The baby is 7-month old. We can’t afford to raise him and hope he can be taken to a welfare home.” Police fed the baby and sent him to Zhongshan Hospital for checks. He was later handed over to the civil affairs bureau. Last night, police were trying to trace the baby boy’s parents.
