A MAN who painted silver necklaces in gold colors and sold them was charged with fraud by the Yangpu District People’s Procuratorate. The swindler, surnamed Li, sold the fake gold necklace at a pawn shop for 17,000 yuan (US$2,809). He tried to commit similar fraud in another pawnshop but was caught in the act on December 31.
