Separate fires damage buildings at Shanghai University

Two separate fires this morning damaged buildings but caused no injuries at Shanghai University.

An unused office building at the university’s Yanchang campus in Zhabei District caught fire at 1:15am while a blaze was reported at a student dormitory at the school’s Baoshan campus at 3:46am.

Firefighters rescued two students inside the dormitory, local media reported.

The office building was reportedly engulfed by fire, which went on for hours before being put out.

The city’s fire authority said the cause of the fires was still being investigated.
