Shipment seized

Shanghai customs has ordered a shipment containing 200 tons of copper ores to be sent back after detecting excessive level of radiation in them, officials said yesterday. Customs inspectors said the shipment from Hong Kong had tried to get into China through Hefei City, capital of east China’s Anhui Province, in February. In April, a Shanghai company declared that it intended to import 200 tons of copper ores and claimed they were produced in Thailand. The shipment was detected after it arrived in Shanghai.
